see the tax slabs for AY2012-13.
Men (below 60 yrs) - exemption limit is Rs. 1,80,000
Women (below 60 yrs) - exemption limit is Rs. 1,90,000
Senior Citizens (60 yrs to 80 yrs) - exemption limit is Rs. 2,50,000
Super Senior Citizens (80 yrs or more) - exemption limit is Rs. 5,00,000.
If you exceed the exemption limit (income before deducitons) then you must file your IT returns |

| If ur salary is less than 5 lakhs after deductions then u don’t have to file IT return |
